This holiday home dates back to 1955. The owners have renovated and decorated it with great attention to detail and the original stone walls remain as well as the authentic wooden beams and earthenware floors. The result is an elegant rural house. In the past it was used as a wheat mill and bakery hence its name in small towns, bread ovens were known as fábricas or tahonas. In several rooms the stones and beams that once supported the heavy mills can be seen and in one of the rooms, now a bedroom, you can still make out part of one of the walls from the old oven.



The holiday home is located in La Joya (jewel) village, a place that, as the name indicates, is liked by all those who visit. It is thought that the village was once the playground of a wealthy family from Antequera and thanks to the marvellous views and peace afforded by the village, it became known as La Joya. Today the same views, peace and tranquillity can be enjoyed and the hospitality of the villagers and climate make this village the perfect place for a relaxing yet fun-packed holiday.



The village is located in a wonderful geographic position, just 15 minutes south of the fabulous city of Antequera at the very heart of Andalusia. It makes the perfect base for visiting Andalusias most important cities of Cordoba, Granada and Seville without forgetting the breathtaking natural areas: El Torcal natural rock formations and El Chorro, an awe-inspiring spot with 3 reservoirs and the dizzying, narrow Gaitanes mountain passes.



In La Joya there are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from, as well as a shop, bakery, pharmacy and 4 star hotel (Hotel La Fuente del Sol) with a wealth of amenities (horse riding, tennis, gym, heated swimming pool and spa) which guests can make full use of.



The house leads on to a private patio of 400 m with private pool (12 x 5.50 m), deck chairs, garden furniture and barbecue.
