Rome

Rome isn’t a cheap destination and it especially concerns the accommodation. Hotel prices for a room bigger than a shoebox are quite high, therefore if you're visiting Rome for more than a night, consider renting a holiday apartment instead.

Venice

Venice is probably the most amazing and famous city in the world. “The Queen of the Adriatic” is situated on the water, therefore the only means of transport here is either by foot or by water. The historical centre of Venice is situated on 120 small islands connected by 400 bridges. 

Venice is especially famous for its carnival. It started in 1094 and takes place every year from 6 to 16 of February.

Amalfi Coast

Breathtaking cliffs, crystal clear water, folklore and traditions, unique towns and villages hanging on the slopes - this is one of the most spectacular coast lines in the world. Amalfi Coast. It unites 12 towns. Some of them is a must see - Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, Ravello. The best time to visit Amalfi Coast is spring or early autumn.

Italy has an endless list of cities that are more than just worth visiting. Some of them are Florence, Naples, Milan, Palermo, Pisa and others. 

Italian regions

Italy has 20 regions. Each regions has a character of its own with its own traditions, cuisine and history. If you are planning a longer holiday and want to get to know a region in depth, it’s worth getting a base by renting a holiday villa and do day trips from there. 

• Tuscany - mild climate, breathtaking landscape, cities and towns rich in history and art, excellent cuisine and wine - these are the things that attract tourists to Tuscany. The capital of the region is stunning Florence - a must see during your visit. Tuscany is a cradle to Renaissance and is home to some great painters, writers and sculptures like Dante, Michelangelo, Machiavelli and Galileo. 

• Sicily - is one of the most famous island in the world and is the biggest in Mediterranean. Europe’s biggest active volcano Etna is situated on the island. The capital of the island is Palermo. Sicily has very diverse touristic opportunities - beach and sea holiday, sightseeing, hiking and camping, etc. No matter what type of activity you are planning to do, renting a comfortable holiday home on Sicily is the best way to experience it.

• Puglia  - is situated on the heel of the Italian boot and is one the most developed regions in the south. Bari is the capital of Puglia. The regions is famous for its Gargano natural reserve with its unique flora and fauna and for its fairytale like white town of Alberobello. All houses in Alberobello (called Trulli) are built from the local stone of white colour, have round shape and cone shaped roofs.

Wine regions

Italian wine holds a significant place on the international market, producing over 1,5 gallon of wine annually. Some of the most famous and important wine regions are: Piedmont - is situated on the north of Italy and is most famous for such wines as Barolo, Barbaresco and Asti; Tuscany which is a home to Italy’s most famous wine - Chianti; Lombardy, Apulia, Umbria, Sicily and many others.

When to go

The best months for visiting Italy are April - June and September and October. August is the worst month for visiting due to high temperatures, overcrowding of cities and beaches with tourists, plus many locals go on vacation in August therefore many restaurants, shops and even hotels are closed.
